About:

I am a filmmaker, producer and multimedia artist based in the Peak District, where i work on both a freelance basis and within my co-directed creative partnership by the name of The Northern Project.

Having completed a BA (Hons) in Film Practice at Newcastle University and nearing the culmination of an MA in Filmmaking at The School of Digital Arts in Manchester (MMU), I am a filmmaker and multimedia artist with a rich background in both theoretical and practical knowlege of the moving image.

In recent years, in both a freelance capacity and within a creative partnership with fellow Newcastle University graduate Nuala Fowler, I have undertaken a wide range of professional projects for clients such as The Whitworth Gallery, Manchester Museum and the International Coalition For Sites of Conscience.

Outside of commissions, my practice spans both the realms of fiction and non-fiction filmmaking, with a portfolio including both award-winning documentary as well as a (now in post-production) community-funded feature-length fiction film
.

On the side of my professional film and arts practice, I run the Edale General Store, the only shop in my Village, where we supply the local population and visitors with fresh groceries, outdoor essentials and souvenirs.

In my free time I enjoy gardening, walking on the moors, narrow boats, beer and meat, that sort of thing.
