In the fictional, sleepy village of Stone, where ‘change’ and the modern world are alien concepts to its residents, the daily village goings-on are derailed by an existential threat that will require the community to pull together and risk it all if it wants to survive. With local jobs drying up, fewer and fewer children in the school and even newcomers to contend with, can Jack and his unlikely crew pull something off to keep the soul of the village alive and stop Stone becoming a holiday-let ghost town?

In the very real village of Edale, a similarly unlikely group of residents came together to create a feature length fiction film. Stone of Stone, written by Mark Wallington and directed by Alec Boyd is the result of four years of community effort from nearly 100 non-professionals in the world of filmmaking.

The production and editing of Stone of Stone is now complete and our community film made its Edale Premiere in a local barn in January 2026, which was completely in-keeping with the production’s circumstances and very ‘Edale’ indeed. Our filmmaking and premiere hosting endevours were noticed by the ‘Rise and Shine’ team from BBC breakfast, who ran several televised news pieces reporting on our achievments as a community and broadcast the morning of the premiere live nationally.
